Carlos wanted to try out for the basketball team. He practiced every day to get ready for tryouts. His little brother watched him practice. "I want to try out          too           ," he said.

"You're            too            little," Carlos said. "You have to wait          two           years before you are eligible."

Finally the day for tryouts arrived. Carlos knew he was an               excellent                player but he was still nervous.

He heard the coach say, "Half the players line up here and the other half line up over            there          ." Carlos did exactly what he was told and played hard. "It's            their             ball," the coach said when a player was fouled.

When tryouts were over, the coach said, "Everyone hit the showers,             except              Carlos."

Carlos waited anxiously while the coach walked toward him.

"You did a great job today," Coach said. "We're              excited             to have you on our team."

"You mean I made the team," Carlos said.

"You sure did! Come           to          practice Monday when the entire team will be here.              They're               looking forward to meeting              their              new teammates."
